The Streyan Saga
THE FIRST
APPRENTICE
A reluctant master. A gifted apprentice. A city whose fate rests on both. The latest release from A.P Joynson.
When Aster Shepard accepts the title of Master of Streya from his former mentor, he is flattered, intimidated and all but certain he is not ready. He certainly didn’t expect that, only days into his new role, he would find himself responsible for not just the next generation of Streyan apprentices, but the next Infinite. A light walker gifted with immense power, whose destiny is bound to the great city of Streya and all light walkers.
With the fate of a civilization resting on his narrow shoulders, Aster must find a way to teach, prepare, and protect his new apprentice from a world that expects him to become a legend. All the while navigating whispered dissent from those who believe Aster never should have been chosen at all.
A.P. Joynson is a lifelong fantasy enthusiast with a degree in English Literature and a passion for creating imaginative worlds filled with heart, magic, and character-driven narratives. Though he first began writing to soothe a restless mind and a constant need to create, his stories reach back much further: born from the vivid imagination of a child who was afraid of the dark, rarely slept easily, and escaped into worlds of his own making.
About the Author
A. P. Joynson
What can I tell you about me? Well all sorts but we'll stick to the salient points. I'm a fantasy nerd, with an English literature degree, and I started writing stories to fight the existential dread that comes whenever I don't feel productive. But actually that's not true, because the stories I write, I've been imagining since I was a little boy with an overactive imagination who was afraid of the dark and not very good at falling asleep. My first novel, The Son Of The Lake, was the product of being one of the only out gay kids in a catholic high school. I was writing the magical gay love stories I wanted to be able to read. More than a decade on, I've resurrected them now with (slightly) improved spelling and I want to give them to you, please, read them, I'm literally begging.
